An explosion at a chemical compound in the Kralupy nad Vltavou which is located 20 km northwest of Prague killed six people and injured several others, according to the local media reports.
A spokesman for Unipetrol, which operates a Synthos facility at the chemical plant, said the “extraordinary event occurred on our premises.”
Fire spokeswoman Vladimira Kerekova said six people died and an unspecified number were injured.
A police spokeswoman said: “According to initial reports, an explosion occurred in one of the companies on the premises. We will find the cause.”
