"Maybe it will just look like some piece of shit, but I hope not,"

It does, and he and his postmodern confreres are wankers of the highest order and no artists, only bullshit artistes.

Interesting mixture of themes in this article. Franz Kafka Square, famous artist. The artists stating that the keys were symbolic of the pro-democracy rallies featuring Havel. His other works, notably the large neon heart that adorned Prague castle towards the end of Mr Havel's tenure in politics; I expect done on a budget of imagination. The budget for this piece of work I expect somewhat larger; I expect his internal trauma will conclude he is not a starving artist.
The political linkage of 'critical of the political situation from the left and the right' seems almost universal in the Czech political press. His art may tell more truth than many a political hack could. The heartbeat of democratic hope began its haemorrhage of good blood at the end of 2003; maybe a neon herna bar gambling machine floated over Prague castle with 'every contracts a winner' emblazoned on it would be to gross. It certainly would be worth following further 'artistic ventures' by Mr David; now his risk budget is slightly larger. A sculpture on the period 2003/2009 would get my attention; art may be able to ask questions of that period; politics have been silenced from doing so. Maybe a playwright could shine light on the pessimistic apathy that pervades; a key to brighter future, history has its better lessons.
