Feels like walking under broken glass

Andel

Early hours traveller, no sleep, sweet Andel, leaves a gypsy flat;
Did you ever catch the morning; were you wearing your favourite hat.
Those with nothing, huddled together; brothers in arms; tanned Slavic skin;
Slipping of down Malatova, catches the river in a high mojo rising.

Tramping the streets of Praha; where no one will call out my name;
My poverty and the colour of my skin invite those armed with shame.
Sunburst Vltava bathes a scarred Romany psychic landscape;
Today I need to avoid all that will bend me out of shape.

Evening darkness increases my refuge space infinitum;
Craken bar offers momentary pleasure, all be it pay as you go.
Herna non-stop; click goes the machine; nothing to show;
Another gypsy day in Andel; equality delivers a crushing blow.
