'Well I will just bypass the E.U. until it has grown up; put in few phone calls now and again' . This is a post Iraq President who has inherited an in tray that is staggering. His party; the Democrats have not been in power for 8 years; a lot has happened since Bill Clinton had a beer in Prague.
A looking glass into a different future with a neo-con far right revival could see things different; President Palin with the Lisbon Treaty in shreds? The extreme policies on 'no regulation banking' and foreign policy outside International law has left the current President with a rebuilding portfolio that is in comparison to the great depression.
In Europe the fantasy land of creative accountancy has visited Greece and the Euro zone powers are having to do the decent thing and help with refloat and survive. Out of what political theory the Greek experience arose is anyone's guess. The far right in Europe; which is not even an accurate description of political movement, would have little time for Brussels.
The political extremes in E.U. member state countries have never produced much cohesion; the move to the centre has been natural and gradual. The Obama administration had much hope pinned on them; bi-partisan politics looked the order of the day for the better good of the country. In both the USA and the E.U. the move to centre politics of agreement on practical solutions would seem logical.
The international stage confronts fear of extremism; it seems that in all spheres of life the enemy is 'extreme'. The simplistic idea of compromise seems a commodity that will be needed in large amounts.
2010 has to be better than its previous year; its seems that it was year of apex problems; this is a good year to avoid extreme politics.
