I have found reading this article more enlightening than 5 years of Education around 'Literature and Writing'. The insight of Adonis as to the compulsion to help others with poetry is so true. Preface to the Lyrical Ballads by Wordsworth&Coleridge also touches on 'what the essntial pasion to man' is and that the poet should promote spirit through universal spirits,

Within Western education there was a rush to push the sciences with the computer reveloution. Many Universities and educational establishments dropped art based teaching to serve the needs of national economies. Now that 'financial meltdown' and other events in the world have surfaced; people may resort to older forms of self expression; however 'instant gratification' is still popular.
