Hypnotic horn

Erik Truffaz is a mild-mannered maestro on trumpet, but his sound is huge, a slow-building sonic trance with a groove for the new jazz age. Wherever he plays, his fans are also more typical for a younger rock or hip-hop band thanks to his experimental incorporation of these more popular styles in his music. His newest album, El Tiempo de la Revolución, features the young vocalist Anna Aaron, and she will appear with the quintet for this concert at Archa Theater March 12. Opening for Truffaz is Sophie Hunger, another young Swiss singer-guitarist on the rise. This evening could actually be billed as the "best" of Swiss culture in this new century.
