In the late 18th century, Gottfried Lindauer took the road untraveled from Plzeň to New Zealand, where he took in indigenous faces and places to take back home in his paintings. On Wednesday, Feb. 27, the West Bohemia Gallery in Plzeň will present a lecture on Lindauer as part of the larger show "Palmy na Vltavě: Primitivismus, mimoevropské kultury a české výtvarné umění 1850-1950" (Palms on the Vltava: Primitivism, Non-European Cultures and Czech Fine Art, 1850-1950). Wednesday's talk starts at 5 p.m., but the exhibition hangs until April 28.
