Charitable agencies that have vocational staff and are not under the control of governments tend to do a better humane job than the state. Tax breaks on charitable status, preferential rents, and medical support contribute in offering shelter and asylum from a world that labels illness as vagrancy. Where the rejection of state mental institutions for a life under Gods open skies is more attractive; then empathy for that damming indictment of psychiatric gulags should be applauded. No one chooses a life expectancy of 50 years at best; a society without empathy is indeed a sad place to live.

'build a camp on the edge of town' 'we are looking for the instruments with which to deal with them'......1939 rhetoric? No.. 2010 approach to homeless in a rich modern city.

Against this bleak reality many kids took to taking methamphetamine as a momentary escape from overbearing negativity. It is not the wisest thing to do; but to those who survived and got out to forge a life of some meaning; may God bless your freedom souls.

Exposing the bland panelaky mileu in some ways is a tribute to those who survived ''Panilaky blues''; true life hero's in this wonderous life.
