In Turkey, there is also smoking ban - I support it - and it works well, our air is better now and smoke doesn't harm non-smokers like me.

"Rubbish!!! The Czech Republic is not lagging in this matter. The other countries mentioned above, including Australia, are busybody countries where smokers, the obese, and increasingly drinkers of alcoholic beverages, including wine, are being hounded and vilified. The Czechs have still got a grip."

We can individually choose what we eat or what we drink, but most places here don't give you a choice about smoking: even if you don't light up yourself, you'll be passively inhaling all night. Non-smokers either have to accept exposure or refrain from going to places that allow smoking (almost everywhere).

Don't forget that second hand smoke has many of the same consequences of direct inhalation.

"The Czech Republic lags behind its West European and global counterparts. Smoking is banned in restaurants, cafés, bars and nightclubs in countries like England, Sweden, Northern Ireland and Italy. Meanwhile, in some countries like Australia, the United States and Ireland, it is also illegal to smoke in some outdoor public places."

Rubbish!!! The Czech Republic is not lagging in this matter. The other countries mentioned above, including Australia, are busybody countries where smokers, the obese, and increasingly drinkers of alcoholic beverages, including wine, are being hounded and vilified. The Czechs have still got a grip.
