Fanfare Ciocarlia promises a stomping evening at Akropolis

Even if you've never seen them, chances are you've heard this hot brass band from Romania, Fanfare Ciocarlia. They did a cover of "Born to Be Wild" in the film Borat. But that only begins to suggest the incredibly fast, complex rhythms this group puts out, which draw on sources ranging from Turkish military bands to Romanian folk music, with an occasional dash of pop hits in the mix. Come ready to sweat and dance - this band is a stompin' good time. Palác Akropolis, March 15 at 7
