For 20 years The Prague Post has drawn staff from all over the world to fill the pages of this unique English-language weekly. Many of our journalists, editors and support staff came and come from abroad and decide to make the Czech Republic their new home.
In order to make their stays as smooth as possible our human resource professionals have offered a wide variety of assistance. These services include processing work permits, communication with state offices and helping to find an apartment or an appropriate school for children, just to name a few. What could have otherwise been an unpleasant and time-consuming series of tasks for newcomers, the Prague Post Ltd. is able to make a comfortable and safe experience. After years of taking care of our own staff we have gained the know-how and the intricate ins and outs within the visa and work permit system.
Now we are offering these same services to the rest of the Czech Republic’s international community. Our skilled professionals can make your arrival and first days in your new home pleasant and free of worries about the legality of your stay. Whether you are changing addresses, getting married, seeking a business license or just trying to get a work visa we can help.

There are two main processes based on different procedures, paperwork and time frames depending on whether you are European Union (EU) or a non-EU citizen.

EU CITIZENS

We offer a complete portfolio of services from the preparation of preliminary paperwork to offering representation at the relevant government offices, assisting every step of the way including:

Temporary and Permanent Residence Permit:

• We can help you prepare the application as well as all the necessary supplementary materials and submit everything on your behalf. Afterwards our professionals will follow up on your application, maintain communication with the relevant officials and offices. You will then collect your completed paperwork.
• We also offer assistance for any type of changes that affect the validity of your documents (change in address, passport number, marriage status, etc) and also in situations where you require your documents to be re-issued (in the case of damaged, lost or stolen papers)
• If you are leaving the Czech Republic, we can inform the necessary offices and manage any issues or paperwork that could occur.

Labor Services

• For foreigners who wish to start their own business in the Czech Republic, we assist in the application for a trade certificate including helping complete the application and represent you at the government office. We can also submit the necessary paperwork to the social and health insurance officials and the state tax office.
• We assist in registration with the labor office and cancellation of that registration if and when you leave the country

NON-EU CITIZENS

Finalizing paperwork for non-EU citizen requires more time and many more complications can occur. Very often it seems an impossible feat which causes many newcomers to give up or stay in the country illegally. Not gaining proper status can, however, make your stay notably less comfortable and threaten your ability to stay in the country or seek employment. For non-EU citizens we offer the following services:

Visa and Permanent Residence Permit

• We will help you prepare all necessary forms and supplementary materials, and will contact the relevant offices to schedule appointments for short-term (Visa type C up to 90 days) as well as long-term visas (Visa type D for more than 90 days).
• We offer assistance for any type of changes that affect the validity of your documents (change in address, passport number, marriage status, etc.) and in situations where you require your documents to be re-issued (in the case of damaged, lost or stolen papers).
• We can help you prepare the application as well as all the necessary supplementary materials and submit everything on your behalf. Labor Services

• The most common reason to stay in the Czech Republic for non-EU citizens is for employment. However, their ability to do so is very much connected to obtaining a work permit and the necessary extensions. We can communication with all the relevant offices and both during the initial application phase and as developments occur
• For those who wish to start their own business in the Czech Republic, we offer assistance in the full process, including applying for a trade certificate – for which we aid in completing the application and will represent you at the office, as well as submit the necessary papers to the social and health insurance officials and the state tax office

Green Card

• We recommend Green Card in case you are looking for both D-VISA and work permit at once. The option of Green Card is a comfortable solution that has a larger expiry period which three years compare to one year in previous cases.
