Interesting comment about Austria having thier labour marked door closed; considering thier bank doors are open and enshrined in secrecy. The budget management I understand is open to voluntary contributions for a particular 'special programme' by any member country. As the budget is managed on a 'results based' system(2009/ 303 million Euro's) and with that comes 'manpower; analysits, etc ; etc; is there any oversight for conflict of interests regarding voluntary contribution for an intended programme. In short, does an extra donation' divert resources from 'less glamorous' projects such as human rights; bribery; and highlights 'show case' economic development projects on behalf of the donor country????

Since the OECD completely failed to predict the present recession, it's difficult to take their prediction for a recovery very seriously.

If the government is seriously interested in improving the economy it simply needs to reduce the rates of corporation tax, social security taxes and VAT to a sustainable and realistic level and reduce the pointless bureaucracy which strangles business. So long as half the national wealth is stolen by the government and then squandered there is little hope.
