Movers & Shakers: PwC expands HR team

PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) has responded to a growing demand for HR services by expanding its human resource services team.

Will Schofield, 42, has been appointed leading partner in the human resource services department at PwC Czech Republic. Schofield will work closely with the local human resource services team and provide clients with a range of HR-related services and products, including immigration advice, international personal tax planning, HR benchmarking and people engagement. His team will include more than 250 HR and tax professionals in more than 20 territories. His area of interest is focused on cross-border HR issues such as personal taxation, remuneration structuring and expatriate policy design.

He has nearly 20 years of experience with PwC in several different regions including the United Kingdom, Australia and Russia.

Branislav Hunčík, 35, has been appointed director in human resource management for PwC Czech Republic and Slovakia.

In his new role, he will manage and develop new services for both local and international clients in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. He has more than 10 years of experience in human resource management and is responsible for HR process analysis projects, projects increasing productivity, projects increasing HR department effectiveness and life-cycle management. Since 2005, Hunčík has been a regional coordinator of the added value of human capital investment projects in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Kazakhstan, Hungary and Russia.

Before joining PwC in 2003, he worked in the media and energy sectors as an HR assistant and HR manager. He holds a Ph.D. in sociology from Charles University in Prague, where he also teaches.

Korn/Ferry International has appointed Tomáš Kubálek as its new senior client partner.

Kubálek will lead the local technology practice at KFI. He has worked in the talent management industry as an executive search consultant since 1997. His main focus is on the information technology and communications sectors.

Before joining KFI, Kubálek was a co-founder and managing partner of a boutique executive search company. Before his career in executive search consulting, he worked for IBM in the Czech Republic as a systems engineer.

He holds a master's in business administration from the Rochester Institute of Technology in New York and is a graduate of the Czech Technical University in Prague.

KPMG Czech Republic has appointed Michael Cianci and Fergus Cunningham new directors in the company's accounting services and payroll and audit departments, respectively.

Cianci joined KPMG ČR in 1997. His responsibilities include helping foreign entities start businesses in the Czech Republic and providing accounting and payroll services to companies from several industries. He graduated from Yale University in 1993 and earned a master's degree at Georgetown University in 1996.

Cunningham joined KMPG ČR in 2002 after five years at KPMG Australia. He has specialized in commercial audits of companies in the manufacturing, retail and information and communications sectors. Since joining KPMG ČR, he has been active in professional education and training as well as the recruitment of expatriate employees. He graduated from the University of Tasmania in 1997.
