Eli Manning and the New York Giants snatched victory from the New England Patriots in last nights Superbowl – the Giants made a 4th quarter comeback to seal the 21-17 victory in the dying embers of the game. In a repeat on the 2008 Super Bowl final, again it was Manning and the Giants who emerged victorious, Manning was also named the MVP.

Last night’s game wasn’t explosive but kept you on the edge of your seat and the bizarre ending emphasised this point. With just under one minute to go it seemed the Giants were looking for a field goal to seal victory.

So, the Patriots defense parted and let Ahmad Bradshaw through and was tackled on the one yard line but his momentum carried him through to the end zone! The Giants plan was to score a field goal and run down the remaining time, but the Patriots now had 57 seconds plus time outs to respond.

Tom Brady, the iconic Patriots quarterback, was looking for his fourth Superbowl ring but despite his best efforts in the final seconds it was Manning and the New York Giants who held on to win the coveted prize.

“I’m proud of our team. We stayed positive, we were moving the ball well but we just couldn’t get touch downs. I knew that our defence would get us a turnover eventually and they did and then it was down to a last drive. We made some big plays, and it feels great” said Giants quarterback Manning.
