Check out highlights of the first installment of The Prague Post Discussion Series from Sept. 23. The topic of discussion was “Can the war in Afghanistan be won?”
The event was moderated by Prague Post Editor-in-Chief Benjamin Cunningham, and the panel was comprised of: Akbar Ayazi, associated director of broadcasting Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty; Oldřich Bures, director for the Center for Security Studies at Metropolitan University Prague; Ondřej Ditrych, research analyst at the Institute for International Relations Prague; and Tomáš Kocián, head of the Afghan desk for People in Need.
Our next event is Nov. 18 at 7 p.m., at the National Gallery ( Dukelských hrdinů 47 in Prague 7), and will be moderated by Prague Post Culture Editor Stephan Delbos. The topic is “Are books dead?”
The featured guests are: Dr. Douglas Shields Dix, cultural theorist at Anglo-American University; Petra Hůlová, novelist, Magnesia Prize winner; David Shorf, deputy editor-in-chief at Lidové noviny; and Howard Sidenberg, publisher of Twisted Spoon Press.
It’s nice to see some video up on the site!
This is interesting, but a few too many typos slipped through: should read
- ‘highlights of our first’
- ‘instalment’
- ‘the panel comprised:’
- ‘at 7 p.m. on Nov. 18′
- ‘will be moderated by’
