2010 Czech Bar Awards

6,584 votes were cast between June and September for the best bars and cafes in the Czech Republic…  and the winners for the third annual Czech Bar Awards are…

BEST CAFE AND LOUNGE

Cafe Lounge won best Cafe.

For the cafe and lounge award: Café Lounge, located at Plaská 615/8.

This Cafe features a fantastic menu with all sorts of coffee drinks, wines and cocktails, as well as a scrumptious food menu for really reasonable prices. For example, for breakfast one of the choices is 2 poached eggs with basil and tomato pesto served with white toast and a small salad for just 70 Kc, or even more exciting for a former New Yorker, they have a lox plate for 105 Kc. They also have a selection of wines, including local wines and those from across Europe. Also be sure to check out their event listings on the site – coming up they have a wine tasting on the Oct 27.

In second place was the historic Café Louvre at Národní 22 in Prague, and in third was Cafe Savoy at Vítězná 5 in Prague.

Best Hotel Bar went to Cloud 9 at the Hilton located at Pobřežní 1 in Prague. This bar features a great cocktail menu with signature drinks like the Charisma. I wrote about this bar before – it’s got a great trendy atmosphere along with the comfort you might seek in a less classy joint. And of course, the cocktails and food are amazing…

In second place was Tom’s Bar at The Augustine Hotel, located at Letenská 12 in Prague. In third place was Barego at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel located at Nebovidska 1.
