Sixties music fans who enjoyed the Beatlemania exhibition at Prague’s National Museum of Music – which finishes this Wednesday after an extended run – will get a chance to see a glimpse of the real thing this June, when Ringo Starr and His All-Starr Band come to town.
The former Beatles drummer may not have been the most famous member of the world-beating quartet, but he will go down in music history with a writing credit for some of the group’s best known songs, including With a Little Help from My Friends, Yellow Submarine, What Goes On and Octopus Garden.
Having changed almost a dozen times since the group began in 1989, the present All-Starr lineup is: Ringo Starr, Wally Palmar, Rick Derringer, Edgar Winter, Gary Wright, Richard Page and Gregg Bissonette.
The show marks only the second time a Beatle has performed in the Golden City, following 2004′s concert here by Paul McCartney.
Czech fans at the gig can wish Starr an early 71st birthday, which comes just a week later.
