‘Yes Burger’–First look

thumbnail

I heard a rumor last week, from two separate people. There was a new restaurant on the block and it wasn’t effing around. Somewhere on Seifertova, the story went, a little joint had opened up with the joyous name of “Yes Burger.”

I admit I’m a bit surprised I didn’t immediately walk over to check it out. After all, it’s only two blocks down the hill from my apartment. Finding exactly where it was required that I take the tram past my usual stop at Husinecká, though. Sometimes you just want to get home, and your adventurous spirit is usually at a minimum after a long day of work followed by the gym.

Last night, however, the temperatures and extended daylight had put a little touch of spring fever and its wonderful energy into me, so I decided to check it out. It turns out it’s only one block up from the Husinecká tram stop, on Seifertova in Žižkov. I ordered the simplest burger they offer, to go.

Forgive the blurriness, sometimes you just want to eat the damn thing.

For 55 crowns, it’s a pretty great deal, and comes with fresh lettuce, onions, pickles and ketchup. I wasn’t blown away, in fact I was a bit disappointed with the meat, which while it was indeed 100 percent beef, I found it to be too dry. But there’s a lot more tasting to be done at Yes Burger, and I don’t really want to form any conclusions at this point in time. Consider this just a heads up. Here’s some shots I took this morning:

Open daily until 11 p.m. As my boyfriend said: "If they're open until 2 a.m. I'm screwed."

  4. Burgers? You must be hurting…and maybe reviewers cover too intensely anyway…not everything is worthy of your time or readers´….

Newspapers are in a constant state of hurt, Rover. If ONLY piddling blog posts about burgers assuaged that at all.

The fact is, the restaurant opened, and I report on restaurants. Maybe hamburgers inflame reader indignation because it seems a quintessential American food.
