Alois Nebel, a Czech animation film based on the graphic novel series by Jaroslav Rudiš and Jaromír 99, is enjoying airings at two of the world’s most respected film festivals this month.

Hopping off the bus on a cold Friday night in Jihlava, it was difficult to ascertain that anything more interesting than a bingo tournament was taking place in the sleepy streets. That changed, however, when we reached the four block radius of theaters and cafes where the festival is taking place.
