Kino Světozor, in cooperation with the Cervantes Institute, as well as the Spanish and Venezuelan embassies, is hosting the 7th annual Spanish Film Festival, better known as La Película (“The Film”). With screenings of more than 20 films, mostly from the past two years, the festival is a wonderful opportunity for all of us to discover the hotblooded cinema of Spain and Latin America. There will also be a special screening of the classic film by Luis Buñuel, Viridiana.

The festival opens Tuesday evening, Feb. 14, with a screening of the only English-language film (the rest are all in Spanish, with both Czech and English subtitles), Intruders, by the director of the magnificent 2001 film, Intacto, Juan Carlos Fresnadillo.

Most films will screen only once, but Insiders, Buenas noches, Espana, Todo lo que tú quieras and También la lluvia will each have two screenings.

The films that will only have Czech subtitles are Todo lo que tú quieras, También la lluvia and Mystikal.
