Emir Kusturica’s film career spans most of four decades, beginning with a Golden Lion Award at Venice in 1981 for Do You Remember Dolly Bell? and 1995′s Underground, a.k.a. Once Upon a Time There Was a Country, which won him his second Palme d’Or at Cannes. After a 10-year absence, the controversial director has returned to Prague.

In effort to assist the inauguration of an exhibition of paintings by Montenegrin artist Vojo Stanić, Kusterica made a special appearance at Dea Orh Art Gallery Nov. 11. It was a rare treat for fans of the controversial auteur.

Among his other activities, Kusturica co-authored a book documenting Stanić´s work, Sailing on Dreams. If his taste is any indicator, the installation, which runs through Nov. 29, is definitely worth a look.
