The 2011 Pulitzer Prizes have been announced and there are several pleasant surprises among the winners. Former Poet Laureate Kay Ryan was awarded the Pulitzer for poetry for her book The Best of It: New and Selected Poems. Novelist Jennifer Egan received the Pulitzer for fiction for her novel A Visit from the Good Squad. These and all of the other winners are listed below.
