The PPF financial group, owned by richest Czech Petr Kellner, will have a new media and communications industry strategist as of September, daily Lidové noviny reported Aug. 28. In an effort to expand its operations to the media field, PPF has hired Roman Gallo, formerly the director and board member of publishing house Vltava-Labe-Press. During his two-year tenure at the company, Gallo was responsible for the development of multimedia projects including the online news portal Denik.cz and the establishment of the wire service Rebel. The new director of the tax and legal services department at PricewaterhouseCoopers is David Borkovec. In his new role, he will be responsible for tax services relating to international tax planning and transfer pricing. Borkovec has worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers since 1999, specializing in provision of corporate income tax advisory. He has focused on proposing tax-favorable holding and finance structures, restructuring companies, tax aspects of international transactions and transfer-pricing methodology, documentation and advance rulings. Borkovec is a member of the Czech Chamber of Tax Advisers, the International Fiscal Association and the Tax Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Prague.
