A new COO at E & Y

Dirk Kroonen, currently the country managing partner at Ernst & Young Czech Republic, has been named COO and tax leader of the company’s new Central and Southeast Europe region. The appointment is part of an ongoing integration of the company’s 87 country practices in Western and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, India and Africa into one new area led by a single executive team. Dutch-born Kroonen has more than 20 years experience in top-level international tax structuring, advising both local and multinational companies. He holds a degree in tax law from the University of Tilburg, the Netherlands.Job Verpoorte is the new country manager at real estate construction consultancy Savant. Previously, Verpoorte, 34, worked as country manager for Savant Estonia after a brief period of work as a project manager for local beverage producer Prazdroj. He also spent several years working in Russia, first as a design and project manager in the Moscow offices of Tebodin Consultants & Engineers, then as a project manager at Savant in Moscow, where he oversaw the expansion of the SABMiller brewery. In 2005, Verpoort relocated to St. Petersburg, where he managed feasibility studies for industrial real estate clients. John Duckworth has been appointed managing director of Jones Lang LaSalle’s Central and East European operations. He replaces Ben Bannatyne, who recently became head of Central and East European business at ProLogis, one of Jones Lang LaSalles’ chief international clients. In the new position, Duckworth will be based in Warsaw, and charged with overseeing the company’s Prague, Budapest, Bucharest and Warsaw offices.
Previously, he worked as the managing director of Jones Lang LaSalle’s Europe and Middle East Area (EMEA) Corporate Solutions Business in London. The company also announces the departure of EMEA Chief Operating Officer Philip Dunne, who will become COO of ProLogis across that company’s EMEA region.Petr Jeřábek is the new senior consultant at LBMS, an IT and management company. In the new position, Jeřábek, 28, will be responsible for managing IT service implementation, ITIL process consulting, and the lecturing of ITIL courses. For the past seven years, Jeřábek worked in various positions at T-Systems and T-Mobile Czech Republic, where he managed customer distribution and directed several administrative projects. He holds a degree in adult education and staff management from the University of Jan Ámos Komenský in Prague.
Mohammed Wazir, originally from Kuwait, joines Corinthia Hotel Prague as Rooms Division Manager. Previously,Wazir worked at the Millenium Mayfair hotel in London, where he managed front office activities. He studied Arabic and Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Durham, United Kingdom.
