ČBA re-elects Kunert

Members of the Czech Banking Association have re-elected Jiří Kunert, the CEO of Unicredit Czech Republic, as the association’s president for a second three-year term. Laurent Goutard, the CEO of Komerční banka, was elected the association’s vice president. Olle Jarleborg is leaving his post of president of the engineering firm ABB Czech Republic. He will be succeeded by Barbara Frei. Jarleborg will continue to work as the regional manager for the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia and Ukraine before retiring later this year.Frei is a graduate of EHT Zurich, where she studied mechanical engineering. She received her doctorate in electrical engineering in 1998, after which she joined ABB.The Uniqua insurance company has named Martin Žáček its chairman of the board and general director, effective July 1. Žáček has worked at Uniqua since 1994. He joined Uniqua’s board in 1995 and two years later became the insurer’s vice chairman.
He is a graduate of the Czech Technical University in Prague, where he studied at the Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Faculty of Physical Engineering.Jiří Hlavatý has been promoted to the position of general manager at the Aria Hotel. He has previously worked in various positions at the hotel for four years. Hlavatý joined Aria after three years in Colorado, where he worked for Rock Resorts Properties, managed by Vail Resorts. The real estate firm Colliers International Central and Eastern Europe has added several new hires to its Prague-based regional team.Jack Hopkins has been appointed regional director of marketing. Hopkins has an extensive background in international marketing, working for firms such as Motorola and Nokia. He has also taught MBA and undergraduate marketing and international business classes at universities in the United States, Denmark and Russia.Bedřich Beck has been appointed regional IT manager. Beck was previously at Map Merchant, one of Europe’s largest paper product distributors, and was their IT manager and regional datacenter architect.
Finally, Kamila Hrbková has been hired as associate director of finance. She was previously with PricewaterhouseCoopers as a senior auditor, where she worked with several international companies such as Coca-Cola, Toyota, and Honeywell.Send information about personnel changes at your company to pvoosen@praguepost.com
