GE Money has named Peter Herbert chief executive officer for the Czech Republic and Slovakia. He will be responsible for all GE Money companies operating in both countries, including GE Money, GE Money Bank, GE Money Multiservis and GE Money Auto.Herbert has over 30 years of international banking experience, gained mainly through a long career with Barclays Bank. His previous positions include finance director of Barclays’ UK banking division and managing director of Barclaycard International. He has also held the role of group strategy director for Barclays and before that had a range of positions in both corporate and retail banking.Most recently, Herbert has been the deputy group general manager at the National Bank of Kuwait, where he has been involved in driving the bank’s growth in the Middle East and North Africa.The automobile manufacturer Nissan has named Petr Ouška its country manager for the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Ouška succeeds Rafał Krawczyk, who has been promoted to Nissan’s central office in Budapest.Ouška, 34, has long-term experience in the car industry. He started his professional career in 1991 as a salesman with Renault. He then served in top sales positions at large Toyota and Mercedes dealers. Since 2004, he has been the general director of Summit Auto, the largest dealer of Nissan cars in the Czech RepublicThe law firm Salans has added Martin Podhorský as an associate in its Prague office. Podhorský joins Salans from the American firm Weil, Gotshal & Manges.

Podhorský focuses on corporate and commercial law, including mergers and acquisitions and employment issues, and he has recently advised a major Czech petrochemical company and a number of foreign investors in connection with acquisitions.He received a master’s in law from Brno’s Masaryk University in 2004 and then worked for a year at Rodl & Partners before joining Weil, Gotshal & Manges.The IT firm Empire has made Rostislav Dušek an account manager. Dušek will be in charge of Empire clients such as Českomoravská stavební spořitelna, Telefónica O2 Czech Republic and UniCredit Leasing.Dušek joins Empire from Telefónica O2, where he worked as a corporate account manger.
