Valert named director

Peter Valert has been appointed managing partner of the Prague office of the international law firm DLA Piper. Valert, 46, previously served as a partner and head of the firm’s technology, media and commercial practice in Central and Eastern Europe. Valert also helped establish and lead DLA Piper’s office in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Valert specializes in the areas of telecom and media law, commercial law, intellectual property and IT law, public procurement law and also has experience with international arbitration and mergers and acquisitions. He has also worked as a legal adviser to the Foreign Affairs Ministry and at the Prague office of CMS Cameron McKenna. Valert is a graduate of California’s Whittier College School of Law and the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). He speaks Czech and English.The Okin Group, a facility management company, has named LudÄ›k Fajgara its project team manager.

Besides leading project teams, Fajgara, 43, will also be in charge of analyzing the company’s processes, optimizing them and introducing the principle of process management into the everyday life of the company.Fajgara has been involved in important projects for such companies as Deutsche Telekom, T-Mobile Poland and TV Nova, as well as several departments of the state administration. He graduated from the Technical University in Ostrava, where he studied information technology. He also holds a degree from the Project Management Institute.The property developer Red Group has appointed three new members to its team. Petr Hartmann has assumed the position of chief financial officer; Iain Fanthorpe has become the associate director for investment and valuation; and Seth Marks is now the head of the sales and leasing department.

In the past eight years, Hartmann has worked in senior finance positions at Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson. He joined the company from Johnson & Johnson Consumer Healthcare, where he worked as a regional finance director. With Pfizer he started as a finance director and moved to a regional finance director role in 2003. He holds an MBA from the CMC Graduate School of Business and a master’s degree in economics from the University of Economics in Prague. Fanthorpe has been involved in the Czech property market for over five years, previously working as the head of the valuation advisory department at CB Richard Ellis. He is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.Prior to his appointment, Marks worked as a sales associate at the Orco Property Group, where he managed the company’s Prague leasing portfolio of approximately 300 flats.
