Billa appoints COO

The multinational supermarket chain Billa has appointed Martin Ditmar to the position of chief operating officer in the Czech Republic.

Ditmar
Ditmar, 35, comes to Billa with seven years of prior managerial experience at the supermarket chains Lidl and Kaufland and the food company Eligo.
Ditmar will manage the company’s logistics, sales and marketing. His priorities include lowering operational costs and improving customer service.
The storage and information management company EMC has expanded its Czech branch with the appointment of managers in local sales and marketing.
David Matějů has been named commercial technology consultant. Prior to EMC, Matějů, 35, led presales support for application servers, portal technologies and integration at Oracle’s Czech division. He has experience as a business development and technology sales consultant at the software companies AVIT, Computer Associates and Compaq. He is a graduate of Charles University, where he studied sociology.
Luděk Šafář has been appointed client solutions director. Šafář, 31, has worked in customer service for IT companies like Microsoft and Novell. Prior to working at EMC, Šafář was commercial director for the consulting firm Equica. He graduated from Prague’s School of Economics, where he specialized in international relations.
The consulting firm KPMG has assigned Alena Kalinová to a managerial position in its Prague advisory department.
Kalinová
A graduate of Prague’s Institute of Chemical Technology, Kalinová has experience in optimizing output and costs in the areas of consolidation and centralization of processes. She has held previous consulting positions at Itelligence, Accenture and DHL.
As the new leader of KPMG’s SAP advisory team, Kalinová’s responsibilities include providing quality assurance on SAP implementations, ensuring SAP security, auditing authorization concepts and final concept evaluation.
The development and investment company Discovery Group has named Daniel Fiřt its new associate development director.
Fiřt
Fiřt, 39, comes to the position with diverse experience in the real estate sector spanning 10 years. For the past six years, he has served as a real estate manager at McDonald’s Czech Republic, planning restaurant developments across the country and Slovakia. Before that, Fiřt managed a team of real estate specialists at 13 branches of Hypoteční banka as the bank’s real estate finance specialist and deputy director.
At Discovery, Fiřt’s duties will include acquisition management and leading a team focused on innovative development strategies.
Fiřt specialized in civil engineering at the Czech Technical University in Prague. He also holds a certification in economics and civil engineering from the Institute of Forensic Engineering at Brno’s University of Technology.
