Škoda's Jahn off to Russia

Volkswagen has named Martin Jahn general manager of Volkswagen in Russia, effective April 1. Jahn, 38, was a member of the board of directors at Škoda Auto, a Volkswagen subsidiary, where he served as a board member for personnel. He will now become a member of Škoda’s supervisory board. Jahn studied economics in the Czech Republic and marketing and communications in the United States. He has held senior management posts including CEO at the inward-investment agency CzechInvest. In 2004, he became deputy prime minister for economics. He joined Škoda in February 2006.
Klaus Dierkes will succeed Jahn at Škoda. Dierkes, 51, has held various positions with Volkswagen since 1984. He has been head of human resources at Volkswagen Germany since February 2006 and a general representative of Volkswagen since July 2007.The advisory firm PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) has made two additions to its top staff in the Czech Republic, appointing Tomáš Horáček to lead the firm’s mergers and acquisitions (M&A) team and Roman Pavloušek director of risk advisory services.

Horáček, 37, will be responsible for expanding PwC’s M&A practice and assisting clients with investments in the region. He has 14 years of investment banking and management consulting experience, formerly serving as head of M&A at ING Barings and as a management consultant at Deloitte and KPMG. He holds a master’s degree in finance from the University of Economics in Prague and an MBA from IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland. Pavloušek, 36, will continue to develop PwC’s internal audit services practice in the Czech Republic and throughout Central and Eastern Europe. He has been with PwC for more than 11 years, and is a graduate of the Technical University in Brno, south Moravia. The law firm bpv Braun Haškovcová has added Dagmar Bicková and Petr Šabatka to its Prague office. Prior to joining Braun Haškovcová, Bicková, 29, worked for six years at PwC and most recently for the law firm KMVS, where she worked in commercial, financial and pharmaceutical law. She is a graduate of the Faculty of Law at Palacký University in Olomouc, central Moravia.

Šabatka, 25, will focus on real estate and commercial law. For the past two years, he has worked as a clerk for Sodomka, Souček, Jindra, Mokrý & Partners.
