New manager at RPG

The RPG group has appointed Martin Frývaldský to the position of project manager. RPG is a Cyprus-based investment firm that owns the Czech Republic’s largest black coal miner, OKD, through its subsidiary New World Resources.
Frývaldský, 38, joins the RPG team after serving four years as an investment manager at Penta Investments. He has extensive experience in corporate finance, having worked on investment, restructuring and merger and acquisition projects. While with Penta, Frývaldský was responsible for the launch of the mobile operator U:fon on the Czech market. He also participated in several significant merger and acquisition projects, including Penta’s acquisition of Aero Vodochody, the country’s leading aircraft producer, and the acquisition of the brewer Plzeňský Prazdroj by the multinational beer company SABMiller. Prior to Penta, Frývaldský was a senior manager of corporate finance at the Prague office of Ernst & Young. He is a graduate from Prague’s University of Economics and speaks English and Russian.The international law firm Salans has appointed Ladislav Štorek to serve as managing partner of its Prague office. In addition to Prague, Štorek, 35, will also be responsible for the operation of Salans’ office in Bratislava.
Štorek joined Salans immediately after graduating from Charles University Law Faculty in 1995, becoming one of the firm’s youngest partners in 2003. Štorek’s practice focuses primarily on mergers and acquisitions, litigation and arbitration, throughout all industry sectors. Most recently, he has represented U:fon and Argus Capital, one of the largest fund managers operating in Central Europe. The real estate firm DTZ has appointed Elliott Hawkins and Mária Študencová agents in its Prague office.
Hawkins, 24, has worked for DTZ in the United Kingdom since 2005. During his career, he has worked for numerous international clients such as Credit Suisse, Orco, Deutsche Bank, Colonia Real Estate and Morgan, among others. In the Prague office, he will help foreign investors identify real estate with investment potential.A British national, Hawkins began his working career during his studies of real estate management at Oxford Brookes University in the United Kingdom. Študencová, 30, joined DTZ in 2006 as a property manager. Her activities included budgeting, reporting, operation of the buildings, and coordinating facility providers. Before joining DTZ she spent six years working in the United States as an on-site manager and project associate.
