January 16th, 2008 issue

The broadcaster Prima TV has again shuffled its leadership, as Marek Singer will replace Aleksandras Cesnavicius as the station’s general director. Singer, 39, will look to turn around the company, which has seen a decline in revenues and market share over the past few years.

Singer has previously worked for the multinationals Unilever and Masterfoods in the United Kingdom, the United States and the Czech Republic. He most recently served as sales and marketing director for Karlovarské minerální vody, the producer of Mattoni mineral water. Singer’s appointment is the third change Prima’s management has seen in the past two months.
The new organizational structure of the Starobrno and Krušovice breweries, both owned by the beer multinational Heineken, came into effect Jan. 1.
The breweries will be overseen by new general manager Lieven Van der Borght, a Belgian who has worked for Heineken in breweries across world.

Van der Borght has appointed new integrated management for the companies: Erik Jan Hamel will be responsible for the finance, IT and legal departments. Jiří Daněk becomes sales director, joining the company from the retailer Tesco. Other members of the team include Jiří Imrýšek, marketing director; Kamil Kareš, export director; Emanuela Stofferová, HR director; Tomáš Pluháček, supply-chain director; and Kateřina Eliášová, communication manager.
Pavel Gregorič and František Krakeš, the directors of the Krušovice and Starobrno breweries, respectively, will retain their positions. In addition, Gregorič will oversee distribution and Krakeš will add governmental affairs to his portfolio.
