New light to guide Energy 21

Renewable energy company Energy 21 has appointed Gary Mazzotti to serve as the company’s chief executive officer. Mazzotti will be responsible for the firm’s strategic development and project realization in the Czech Republic and other European countries.
Mazzotti, who is from the UK, is a graduate of the University of Reading. Throughout his career he has worked in various positions in the financial field at firms such as Touche Ross & Co, the Greyhound Corporation, Atlantic Computers and the Virgin Group. In 2001, Mazzotti became the financial director at AAA Auto Group, helping to build the company into the largest used-car dealership in Central Europe. Mazzotti became AAA’s executive director in 2006 and prepared the company for entry into the Prague Stock Exchange. The petrochemical company Unipetrol has appointed Christopher Tait as its new director of internal audit. Tait, 35, has worked at Česká rafinérská, a Unipetrol subsidiary, since 1996. From 2005, Tait led the company’s internal audit and risk management department. Previously, from 2000 to 2005, he served as the assistant to the CEO and the company’s secretary. Tait holds an MBA from the University of Calgary and is a graduate of the University of East Anglia in the United Kingdom. Tait speaks fluent Czech and advanced German.
Petr Jurák has been named the new financial director of Pliva, a pharmaceutical company. Pliva, originally a Croatian company, is a subsidiary of US Barr Pharmaceuticals, the world’s third-largest generic drug company. Jurák, 37, graduated from the Faculty of Business and Management at the Technical University in Brno and holds an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh. Prior to Pliva, Jurák was the financial director of Tiscali, the director of financial audits at Czech Telecom and a member of the financial committee supervisory board of Eurotel (now Telefónica O2).The Association of Public Relation Agencies has appointed Pavla Schwingerová as its new executive director. APRA is a voluntary association of PR agencies in the Czech Republic established in 1995.

Schwingerová, 40, has been active in the media, PR and communications for more than 10 years.
