American investment fund buys Web portal
Centrum.cz is No. 2 in terms of users

(Updated Dec. 5, 2007) Warburg Pincus, an American investment fund, has bought a majority stake in the Internet portal Centrum.cz, fund investors Oldřich Bajer and Ondřej Tomek told Hospodářské Noviny newspaper. Although the investors declined to say the price, analysts have estimated the portal's worth at about 2.9 billion Kč ($162 million).Centrum.cz is No. 2 in terms of visitors following Seznam.cz, which has a higher user rate than world leader Google.
