The multinational IT firm EMC has named a new country manager for the Czech Republic, Michal Fišer. He joins EMC from the Czech division of Oracle, where he worked since 2004. At Oracle, Fišer managed sales for technology products and business intelligence and was also responsible for the enterprise and small-to-midsize business segments.
Prior to Oracle, Fišer worked at Tesco ČR as a central support and operations manager. He has also held managerial positions at several small IT firms.Fišer is a graduate of the Czech Technical University in Prague, where he studied electronics and electrical appliances. The PR firm Best Communications has hired Tereza Procházková to serve as a manager for public affairs and public relations. Before joining Best, Procházková worked for two and a half years as a communication and political adviser at the European Union’s regional committee in Brussels. Procházková is a graduate of Charles University and holds a master’s degree from Basel University in Switzerland. The real estate firm Colliers International has announced several additions to its executive staff in an expansion of its Prague office. Otto Jelinek, a Czech native and former world champion figure skater, will now serve as the chairman of Colliers International Central and Eastern Europe. Joining as the regional operations director for Central and Eastern Europe is Luke Dawson, who arrives from Vancouver, Canada, to take on the role. Dawson will direct the firm’s growth in its regional offices in Prague, Warsaw, Bratislava, Budapest and Bucharest.Carlo Gradl, a veteran of commercial real estate in Prague, will serve as director of office listings and retail services. Although a native of Germany, he has lived in Prague for the past 14 years.And lastly, Martin Sobíšek joins the firm as regional finance director.
