The Czech branch of the global real estate adviser Cushman & Wakefield has added Martin Žížala, the firm’s retail director, to the company’s board of directors; he becomes the board’s fifth member.

Žížala currently leads the company’s retail team with responsibility for both the Czech and Slovak markets. His team consists of 13 staff and is expected to expand soon. Žížala joined C&W’s London office in 1998 and moved to Prague in July 2003, when he took up his present position. Žížala graduated from Oxford Brookes University with an honors degree in estate management. He is a qualified chartered surveyor. A native Czech, Žížala has lived in the United Kingdom since the age of 14 and is bilingual in Czech and English. Central Europe’s largest used-car dealer, AAA Auto, has tapped Vladan Crha to become the company’s director of public relations and sponsorships. Crha, 35, joins AAA Auto from Vodafone ČR, where he served as the company’s communication director. Previously, he worked as a spokesperson and PR manager for Český Telecom.He is a graduate of the University of Economics in Prague, where he studied international relations and politics. He speaks English and Russian.Barrandov Studios has created a new position to further improve relations with local and foreign filmmakers. As sales manager, Petr Volný will also be responsible for production of commercials and international co-productions. He takes over areas that previously fell under the domain of former marketing director Petr Poledňák, who left the company in March. Before joining Barrandov, Volný worked as the manager of IP Arbomedia Slovensko, a media agency. Besides Volný, Barrandov’s top management now includes General Manager Vladimír Kuba and Finance Director Janka Vozárová.The Sekyra Group, a real estate firm, has named Pavel Škvára to the position of general director for Russia and Ukraine. Škvára formerly served as Sekyra’s deputy CEO and authorized representative of the Danish firm TK Development.

Škvára will be responsible for expanding and strengthening the activities of Sekyra in Eastern Europe, managing the company’s office, projects and developing new investments. Sekyra has been active in Russia and the Ukraine since 2005. Currently, the company is developing 70 projects with total investment costs of about 100 billion Kč ($4.9 billion). Prior to joining Sekyra, Škvára worked for TK Development, overseeing the company’s development and acquisitions, including management of the Prague Outlet Center and the Business Park Liberec.Škvára is a graduate of the University of Economics in Prague, where he majored in management, marketing and business law.
