Those looking to escape a tourist-packed city or those wanting to keep their minds revved up during school vacation can both find what they are looking for in an array of fun, affordable summer programs.
For people wanting to learn a second language, a virtual Babel of camps and courses dot Prague.
Kids can spend a week or two immersed in English classes and play at KLC Krystof or Aaada School. Modré nebe also offers playgroups for French, Czech and English speakers.
Older students might want to check out summer language programs at universities and private language schools in Prague. The Czech-challenged with time to spare can plunge into Charles University’s three-week intensive course.
But summer is also a time for pure fun. Adventurous and sporty kids can get their fill of activity at Prague Adventure Camps and Czech International Hockey Camp, among others.
Kids looking to tune up — or discover — their inner maestros have scores of opportunities at two Czech camps that offer lessons for a wide variety of instruments.
So forget the lazy days of summer. This year it’s time to have an adventure, pick up a language and just generally have fun.
Here‘s a guide to what’s hot this summer.
