Pražák
Former Prima TV Director Martin Dvořák has been named general director of the Prague Transportation Company. Dvořák took over the position from Tomáš Jílek, who has moved on to work as the company’s strategic and investment development director. Prague Mayor Pavel Bém said earlier this year that the new general director should focus on increasing the efficiency of financial management of the company that deals with an annual budget worth 15 billion Kč ($713 million).
Dvořák, a graduate of the University of Economics in Prague, worked as Prima TV’s director for six years and left the station last fall. In the past, he honed his managerial skills in various companies, including tire maker Barum Continental and telecommunications giant Český Telecom (now Telefónica O2).
Kaclová
SpenglerFox, an executive search and HR consultancy group, has promoted David Bentley to the position of practice group leader for technology. Bentley will be responsible for business development and project delivery for SpenglerFox’s technology clients worldwide.
Bentley has been working in executive search for eight years, and is based in SpenglerFox’s Prague office. He joined the company as a senior consultant in January 2004, after several years as principal consultant at Recruitment International. He specializes in the technology sector but also has experience in the pharmaceutical and automotive sectors.
Bojčev
Bentley is well established in the Czech Republic, having moved here in 1995. He worked initially as director of studies in a Prague Language School, before moving into executive search in 1999. He holds an honors degree in political theory from the University of Liverpool.
Throughout March, several PR companies reported changes in their personnel.
JWT Praha agency has introduced a new account director, Mirek Pražák. Pražák, who in the past has worked for other PR companies, will be focusing on the automotive and pharmaceutical sectors and also on sports marketing. At JWT, he will also coordinate services for the company’s new client, travel company Firo Tour.
Mmd public relations company boosted its team focusing on IT and telecommunications clients by hiring Markéta Kaclová as a new account manager. Over the past 10 years, Kaclová has worked as a journalist, most recently at Czech Radio, focusing on IT and Internet-related issues.
At Mmd, she will work with IT customers such as Google, Intel or Lenovo.
Kaclová studied journalism at Prague’s Charles University.
In another recent personnel change within the PR sector, Nikola Bojčev joined Relative PR as a consultant. His portfolio of clients will feature low-cost airline SkyEurope, electronic toll system provider Kapsch and others. Bojčev previously worked as a radio reporter, spending the past six years at Frekvence 1 radio station. Bojčev’s school degree differs from those of most of his colleagues in the business sector — he studied organ music.
