International public relations company Mmd has announced new appointments.Milan Deutsch was named country operations director. In his new position, Deutsch will be responsible for human resources management and also for developing Mmd’s Czech business strategies.Deutsch has been working at Mmd for 11 years. Throughout this period, he worked as the client service director for Central and Eastern Europe and also headed Mmd’s branches in Croatia and in Slovenia. Deutsch studied international trade at the University of Economics in Prague, journalism at Charles University and marketing and communications at Thames Valley University in London.

Mmd also announced that its communications team member Lukáš Hora has been promoted to junior account manager. Jan-Willem Eykma began working as the head of ING Wholesale Banking Czech Republic’s corporate clients department. Eykma, who studied finance at Erasmus University Rotterdam and Tilburg University, has worked with ING Wholesale Banking since mid-2006. Previously, he worked in various managerial positions at Rabobank International and Global Telecom. Eykma has been a keen drummer since childhood.Pavel Hladík was appointed in late February to the 10-member supervisory board of Czech Airlines (ČSA). Hladík, who graduated from the Transportation University in Žilina, has worked at ČSA since 1970.Real estate and investment group Quinlan Private Golub recently appointed Stephen Haigh country manager for the Czech Republic.As country manager, he oversees Quinlan Private Golub’s entire Czech development portfolio. This includes a number of Prague-based projects, such as Slunečný vršek (residential project Sunny Hill, a joint venture with Orco Property Group), Charles Square Centre, BB Centrum and Explora Business Centre. Haigh will also be preparing for a number of additional residential schemes now in planning stages.With more than 25 years of experience in the real estate sector, Haigh will marshal the ongoing investment and development activities of Quinlan Private Golub in the Czech Republic. Prior to joining Quinlan Private Golub, he occupied a number of managing director positions in well-recognized UK real estate entities, including Gleeson Homes Northern, Antler Homes and Allen Homes. Anna Čudová, former chief accounts manager for language school Berlitz, has moved to Akcent/International House and will launch the company’s new effort to penetrate the corporate language-training market. Čudová was responsible for landing the Exxon-Mobil contract, which significantly augmented Berlitz.Alfred Brunclík was named general director of the Czech Republic’s Road and Motorway Directorate. Brunclík is a graduate of the Czech Technical University in Prague. He worked over the past 17 years in the Subterra construction company, most recently as business director.
