Microsoft Czech Republic turned to its own management when looking for a new development manager, promoting corporate business solutions manager Petr Karásek to the head of the development division. Karásek has worked with Microsoft since 2002, after the sofware giant took over a smaller software compane Navision, in which Karásek worked as a product manager. In the past, Karásek also worked as a programmer and as a webmaster at the VZP insurance company. Another computer technology giant, IBM, also reported changes in management. Radim Hradílek, who until recently worked as the country leader for global business services, was promoted to territory leader for Central and Eastern Europe. He will be responsible for the development of IBM's services in 11 countries, including Russia and Ukraine. Hradílek's vacated spot was filled by Vladek Šlezingr, who has been working in the IBM global business services department since 2003.
Jiří Nekovář, president of the Czech Chamber of Tax Advisors (KDP ČR), was elected vice president of the General Assembly of the Confédération Fiscale Européenne (CFE) an umbrella organization for more than 30 national tax organizations and about 150,000 European tax advisers. The CFE takes an active part in the legislation process in the field of taxation and is also an important place for commentary on proposals for tax measures at the European Commission. Nekovář has been president of the KDP ČR since 1996. He has been involved in CFE activities as a member of its general assembly, council and fiscal committee since 1994. He has been a tax adviser since 1993, primarily through his own company, Euro-Trend.
Lee Coles joined PwC as a senior manager in the forensic services department. He transferred from PwC London and joined the 40-member forensic services team in Central and Eastern Europe. Coles has worked in forensic services at PwC since 1997, specializing in investigations and working in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Kenya, Finland, Italy, Germany, France, Belgium and Romania. Coles qualified as an accountant with the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants in 2000 and graduated from the University of Plymouth with a degree in economics.
