JWT opens new office in Prague

JWT, the WPP Group's international communications agency, has established a new office in the Czech Republic, JWT Prague, under the leadership of Britta Plattner. She will be responsible for creating a team and building a strong communications agency for both international and local clients. Plattner said the agency would focus on marketing through emerging media, such as blogs and streaming Internet video.

Plattner began her career in the late 1980s working for McCann-Erickson and Publicis as an account manager for Nescafé and Coca-Cola. In 1991, she began working for JWT in Frankfurt before moving to Vienna and then Prague. Her main focus was handling the international clients Kraft, Unilever, Pfizer, Nestlé, Reckitt Benckiser and Rolex.

Petr Jurák has become the new financial director of the telecommunications company Tiscali Czech Republic.

Prior to joining Tiscali, Jurák worked as the director of financial control and audit for chemical company Agrofert. From 1996 to 2005, he worked for market leader Český Telecom — now Telefónica O2 — as the director of financial operations and as deputy internal audit director.

In addition to his master's degree in business administration, Jurák is also a certified internal auditor, a certified accounting expert and a certified accountant (ACCA). He is a member of the U.S.-based International Institute of Internal Auditors, the Chamber of Certified Accountants of the Czech Republic and the British ACCA. Jurák regularly gives lectures at professional seminars and conferences in the Czech Republic and abroad. He also writes for professional publications.

The Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group named Andrea Patzelt spa manager at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, to be opened in Prague Sept. 12. Patzelt worked as the spa manager for MeridianSpa, Hamburg's leading day spa. Later on, she worked in the same position at the Interalpen-Hotel Tyrol in Buchen, Germany. After two years there, she became an independent consultant in the spa sector. She is married and has two children.

Jaroslav Adolf was promoted to sales manager in the real estate leasing department at leasing company Immorent Czech Republic. Adolf previously worked at Immorent as an account manager.

Adolf came to Immorent from Komerční banka, where he passed a one-year education program called Young Graduates. He also worked as a relationship manager for corporate clients. At Immorent, he was responsible for improving customer relations and acquiring new clients.
