For the Post

Despite being canceled last year because of a boycott by some architects, the Grand Prix Obce Architektů awards remain among the most prestigious in the profession. This year the 13th annual awards ceremony was held May 11 at Veletržní palác. Sponsored by Obec architektů, a professional association, the awards are determined by an international panel of judges. This year the judges were Minoru Takeyama of Japan, Benedetta Tagliabue of Spain, Richard Polom of Slovakia, Vladimír Šlapeta of the Czech Republic, and Zvi Hecker of Israel, who also served as chairman of the panel. The award-winning designs will be on display at Veletržní palác in Prague 7–Holešovice through June 15.
