Movers and ShakersNew partners at PwCMovers & Shakers | Search restaurants | Archives By František Bouc Staff Writer, The Prague Post February 8th, 2006 issue PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) has appointed two new partners in its assurance services department: Marek Richter and Alexander Šrank. Richter will oversee the activities of the consulting firm's Moravian offices in Brno and Ostrava. Richter began working for PwC in October 1993. As a member of the firm's audit team, he has worked primarily with clients in the consumer and industrial product and financial services sectors. He has a degree in economics and management from the Technical University in Brno. He is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and a registered auditor for the Czech Chamber of Auditors. Šrank will focus on assurance services, including audits and financial reviews, and advisory services. In addition to his background in assurance, Šrank has extensive experience with privatization deals in Slovakia and other countries in Central and Eastern Europe. He has been with PwC since 1994. In the late 1990s, he did auditing in the firm's London office. Šrank studied information technology at the Bratislava Technical University and is a member of the ACCA. Volksbank CZ recently announced a change in its board, with Tomáš Kořínek replacing Wolfgang Mayer. Kořínek has worked for various financial companies. He joined Volksbank CZ from BAWAG Bank, where he was director of the credit risk department. One of his priorities at Volksbank will be managing the bank's credit risk portfolio. International investment and industrial group RPG Industries has appointed a new financial director, Jan Žižka. Žižka has held the same position in several companies since 1990, most recently at international paper manufacturer Mondi Packaging Paper. Žižka is a graduate of the University of Economics in Prague. ICZ, an information technology company, recently announced a changing of the guard on its board, following Manfred Joseph's decision to step down as the company's CEO. He has been replaced by Zdeněk Jirkovec, who also holds the title of director of ICZ. Václav Šlehofer was recently named the key account manager for the alternative carrier segment at telecommunication operator Alcatel Czech. He will be responsible for managing the company's business with local alternative telecom operators. Šlehofer joined Alcatel Czech after graduating from the Prague-based Czech Technical University, where he studied electronics. Šlehofer started there as a project manager in the sales department and was later promoted to country manager in the company's fixed communication group. For the past two years he has been Alcatel's director for sales support.
