Best of Realty winners for 2005



November 16th, 2005 issue

The best Czech real estate projects of the past year vied for top prize at the seventh annual Best of Realty 2005 awards ceremony, held Nov. 9 at Prague Castle. The nine-member jury — made up of architects, developers, and realtors — cast votes on 35 projects that were completed after Jan. 1, 2004.

The award of the Association for Real Estate Market Development went to Ludďk Sekyra, board chairman of Sekyra Group a.s. The award of the media partners' readers went to Rezidence Jeseniova (J & T Global company). For more information, check out www.bestofrealty.cz

Best Residential Project

1. The Prague 5 Alibaba residence, which the jury cited as an outstanding example of an experienced developer (ING Real Estate Development CR) working in cooperation with an experienced architect

2. Čertovka apartments, Harrachov, V Invest CZ a.s.

3. Na Zemance housing estate, Praha 4, AT Development a.s.

Best New Administration Project

1. Nile House in Prague 8, commended for changing the once-neglected Vltava embankment into a gallery of high-class architecture

2. BB Centrum Beta, Praha 4, Passerinvest Group, a.s.

3. Budějovická alej, Praha 4, Skanska BudeŠjovická Alej a.s.

Best Reconstructed

Office Premises

1. The Forum in Prague 1, for both the restoration of a neo-Baroque building and its contribution to the revival of Wenceslas Square

2. Machine House, Praha 8, Real Estate Pernerova s.r.o.

3. Business Center Bohemia, Plzeň, BCB, a.s.

Best Shopping Mall

1. Galerie Vaňkovka in Brno, for its use of original national heritage architecture integrated in harmony with Brno's historical center

2. Varyáda, Karlovy Vary, TK Development, s.r.o.

3. Galerie Butovice, Praha 5, ING Real Estate Development CR, s.r.o.

Best Hotel

1. Jelení dvůr in Prague 1, because the builders did not set a goal of opening a luxury hotel close to Prague Castle, but a hotel that would maintain its history and offer comfort and Czech hospitality

2. Residence Alchymist, Prague 1, Jana Investment, s.r.o.

3. Anděl's Suites, Praha 5, UBM Bohemia

Special Jury Award

Bat'a skyscraper, Building number 21, for clear evidence that developers have to base their work on cultural heritage, and for establishing a milestone in Zlín's future development
