Bís joins CEZ board

The supervisory board of Czech energy group CEZ has appointed Deputy Industry and Trade Minister Jirí Bís its new member until the next general meeting. Bís replaced Martin Pecina, who stepped down from CEZ board after being named the chairman of the Anti-Monopoly Office in September. Bís is the former CEO and member of the board of directors of municipal energy distributor Plzenská energetika. At the Industry and Trade Ministry, he is the head of the energy department.

Czech software company Cleverlance's expansion to Slovakia has brought about new appointments.

Jozef Harvan was named managing director of Cleverlance's new office in Slovakia. The 47-year-old IT guru, who previously assisted international IT consultancy firm LogicaCMG to penetrate Slovakia's financial markets, will be focusing on developing a functioning team of IT specialists. In Slovakia, Cleverlance will be targeting financial and telecommunications markets. Harvan studied at the University of Economics in Bratislava.

Ondrej Turza was promoted to senior solutions architect. He is responsible for the implementation of system solutions for Cleverlance's Slovak customers. Turza joined Cleverlance from LogicaCMG, where he was a consultant for mobile communications. Turza studied information systems management at Komensky´ University in Bratislava.

In another personnel change at Cleverlance, Jan Mothejzík was named the operations manager. In this position, Mothejzík supervises financial flows and other internal business within the company. Mothejzík previously was the director of the Prague office of IT school Gopas. Mothejzík holds a master's degree in cybernetics from the Czech Technical University in Prague.

Ernst & Young consultancy firm recently appointed a new forensic services leader for the Czech Republic and the Central-South Europe area. Markus Lohmeier, who has been with Ernst & Young since January 2002, relocated to Prague from Frankfurt, Germany, to take the post.

Lohmeier has worked in the forensic advisory area in various locations for more than nine years and has extensive experience investigating major fraud, corruption, money laundering and dispute services. Though based in Prague, he will work closely with forensic experts in Ernst & Young's offices throughout Central Europe.

Lohmeier, who has a legal background, graduated from Konstanz University.

Petr Stepánek was appointed the deputy director in the utilities department in IT company, NESS Czech. He will be developing business strategies and expanding the firm's services to companies in the energy sector. Stepánek has been working in the utility business since 1993.
