CLASSICAL

Douglas Bruce started his career in Scotland before relocating to Switzerland, where he is the organist at Münchenstein's St. Frances Xavier Church. He comes to the International Organ Festival with a fairly eclectic program from J.S. Bach up through modern composers such as Noel Rawsthorne. Sept. 15 at 7, Bazilika sv. Jakuba

The 14th annual Svatováclavské slavnosti festival celebrates Václav, one of the patron saints of the Bohemia, with concerts in churches and palaces starting Sept. 15 and running until Sept. 28, which is the saint's feast day. Opening: Sept. 15 at 7:30, Kostel sv. Šimona a Judy

Now in its 15th year, Prague Autumn, or Pražský podzim, runs through Oct. 2. One highlight this week is a program called Cikanské tance a melodie (Romany dance and music) performed by the Rájko Ensemble of Budapest, Sept. 16 at 4 and 7:30, Lucerna.

The star-shaped summer palace Hvězda hosts a show of songs and dances from the Rudolfine era with dances by Chorea Historica and music by Ritornello. Sept. 18 at 4, Letohrádek Hvězda

OPERA

The first opera premiere of the new season is a co-production with the Riga and Dublin opera houses. Janáček's Jenůfa has sets and costumes by Daniel Dvořák and stage direction by Jiří Nekvasil. Sept. 14 (second premiere) and 16 at 7, National Theater

JAZZ, ROCK, ETC.

The ongoing Rebelující dámy české hudby series celebrates rebellious Czech women with a concert from Bára Basiková a Precedens. The group performs pop, rock and romantic tunes. Sept. 15 at 7:30, Městská knihovna

Celebrate Indian summer with the Babí leto festival on the grounds of the psychiatric hospital at Bohnice. Supercool and Agon Orchestra are among the highlights. See Stage, page B6. Sept. 17 starting at 1, Psychiatrická léčebná Bohnice

A new series of Free Mondays at Abaton has Southpaw on stage one and Nana Zorin on stage two, with various DJs taking up the slack. Sept. 19 at 8, Abaton

Local alternative clubs including Abaton, Cross, Guru, Matirx, Palác Akropolis, Rock Café and Roxy are hosting the three-day international Move European Festival, with DJs and bands from the UK, Portugal, Slovakia, Turkey and other countries. See Stage, page B2. Sept. 15–17, various venues

The lead singer of progressive rock band Yes reinterprets some of the songs solo in the Jon Anderson Work in Progress Tour of the Universe. He also might tell some stories and answer some questions. Sept. 20 at 8, Divadlo Broadway

Slovak rock band Elán had a number of hits in the 1970s and '80s and have more that 20 records in their catalog. Things looked grim for the band a few years ago after the lead member had a motorcycle accident, but he made a full recovery and the band is reportedly as good as ever. Sept. 21 at 8, Sazka Arena

CLUBS

The loudest sounds of the London underground are the theme of a party to kick off a new club season. The Meccamix Opening Party will have beats from DJ Marble of Pacha London plus other DJs and dancers. Sept. 16 at 10, Mecca

If you need an excuse to show up late for work on Thursday, Mecca's Wednesdays for Free provides it with DJ Pat Heart and more. Sept. 21 at 9, Mecca

OTHER

A preview dance party for next month's Bollywood Film Festival has Bollywood music spun by DJ Idly and some video clips from famous films and dances from the Bolly Natyam dance group. An afterparty is in Roxy NoD. Sept. 19 at 7, Roxy
