Movers and shakersGripen appoints LittkeMovers & Shakers | Search restaurants | Archives By František Bouc Staff Writer, The Prague Post September 14th, 2005 issue Former Swedish Air Force fighter pilot Bengt Littke has been appointed program director for the Czech Republic at Gripen International, a Swedish firm that sells military jets. Apart from marketing and branding responsibilities of 14 Gripen aircraft that the Czech Republic recently leased, Mr. Littke will manage Gripen International's contractual obligations to deliver offset investments. That program is currently being carried out here by BAE Systems. The offset requirement is a result of the government-to-government agreement between the Czech Republic and Sweden for the lease of two dual-seater and 12 single-seater Gripen aircraft. At the same time, Littke will also oversee Gripen's offset program in South Africa. Littke holds a degree in computer science and is a reservist with the Swedish Air Force. He comes to the job with a strong managerial background in the Swedish business world, first spending 15 years with Saab Aerosystems and five years with telecommunication giant Ericsson. A Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS) in London, he served on the RAeS Flight Simulation Committee for more than 10 years. In his leisure time, Littke sings with the Linköping University Male Voice Choir in Sweden and is a qualified sailing instructor with the Royal Swedish Yacht Club. Hana Černochová has been named general director of the Czech Airports Authority, which was recently renamed Prague Airport. Černochová was acting head of the state-controlled company that has managed Prague-Ruzyně international airport since June. She replaces Martin Kačur. Before joining Czech Airports Authority as the deputy director for economy earlier this year, Černochová worked as financial director for Agrotec, an engineering company. In other personnel news in the airline industry, low-cost carrier easyJet introduced a new director to its Czech office and a planned change of guard at the helm of the company. Philippe Vignon was appointed easyJet's Czech general director. Vignon will also oversee the airline's activities in Switzerland, Italy, Greece, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia, Estonia and Latvia. The marketing director of the airline's Swiss office, Vignon joined easyJet six years ago. Before that, he worked with French cosmetic giant L'Oreal. Vignon, who holds Swiss and French citizenship, spent his childhood in France and in Singapore. EasyJet also announced that Andrew Harrison would take over for retiring CEO Ray Webster in December. Harrison earned recognition in Britain through his successful management of consumer services provider RAC, which earlier this year was taken over by insurance giant Aviva.
