Lovely, laid-back Karlovy Vary almost outshines the glitterati of celebrity guests.
Some people go for the films, others go for the parties. And it is possible to spend the entire festival without paying for a single drink or a meal; it just takes a bit of planning and a bit of skill. Schmoozers be warned, though: Except for the opening and closing parties, usually on the first night and last evenings of the fest, few of the stars make more than a token appearance, and often only in a hard-to-reach VIP zone.
