Prague Zoo devastated by floods
During the floods in August 2002, Prague Zoo employees risked their lives to save animals during the largest and possibly fastest evacuation of a zoo in history. Nearly half the zoo compound was destroyed in the disaster and hundreds of traumatized animals were moved to other zoos. As a result, full recovery of the zoo will take years.
If you would like to contribute to our recovery efforts, contributions can be made to the following bank account.

The Prague Zoo wishes to extend it's gratitude to all who have lent a hand in the massive clean-up effort. Especially we wish to thank our colleagues who provided homes for many of our animals, some of whom are still too traumatized to be returned at this time. Special thanks goes to the companies and private individuals who donated equipment and resources, enabling the Zoo to get over the worst of the crisis.
The Prague Zoo welcomes all interested individuals of goodwill to contact us about ways to help us raise the necessary funds for overcoming this adversity.
Thank you,

which house the technology that makes theaters function, and
sometimes entire theater spaces were damaged.
The AURA-PONT Agency with the Alfred Radok Foundation,
the Association of Professional Theaters of the Czech Republic and
Theatre Institute Prague started a fundraising drive with the goal of
reconstructing
the flooded and damaged theaters. This link provides all details including
up-to-date information on all damaged theaters and photodocumentation.
Among the most damaged venues are Theater on the Balustrade,
the Archa Theater, the Palmovka Theater, Cinoherni klub in Usti nad Labem,
and many others.
